ISL-3: Delhi Dynamos & Mumbai City FC play out exciting 3-3 draw!

delhi-dynamos-mumbai-city-fcThe third edition of the Indian Super League tonight saw its most entertaining and match with the most goals so far as Delhi Dynamos FC came back from 1-3 down to draw 3-3 with Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Mumbai City FC looked the better side in the first session and after a few wasted chances, they went ahead in the 33rd minute when a brilliant Leo Costa through ball found Krisztian Vadocz, who beat Dynamos keeper Soram Poirei Anganba. Only six minutes later a Sony Norde free kick hit the crossbar before Hungerian Vadocz headed in his second of the night to give Mumbai City FC a 2-0 half time lead.

But the Dynamos came back after the break and reduced the margin in the 51st minute when Ghanian striker Richard Gadze finished off a move which involved Ibrahima Niasse, Florent Malouda and Marcelinho.

Mumbai City FC now again took the initiative to try and score a third, but they had failed chances through Leo Costa and Cafu before in the 69th minute it was Sony Norde who made it 3-1 for the visitors off a Cafu pass.

But the game was far from over as the Dynamos staged a memorable fightback. Substitute Badara Badji reduced the deficit in the 76th minute with the ball shot across the line by a Mumbai City defender and then in the 82nd minute the Delhi Dynamo were awarded a penalty for a debatable foul from keeper Volpato on Gadze and it was Brazilian Marcelinho’s placed shot which earned the Dynamos the equaliser.

Mumbai City FC had one last chance through their Argentinian midfielder Matias Defederico, but his attempt only hit the post as the dramatic match ended in a three-all draw.
