ISL-4: Champions ATK lose 1-2 at home to Mumbai City FC!

Defending ISL champions ATK dismal season continued as they suffered a 1-2 home loss to Mumbai City FC at the Saltlake Stadium on Sunday night.

While ATK will miss out on the playoffs for the first-time in the history of the Indian Super League, Mumbai City FC with the win keep their slim semifinal hopes alive.

It was a slow start into the game before the guests from Mumbai City FC went ahead in the 32nd minute through a Marcio Rozario free-kick which went past the hands of ATK keeper Soram Poirei Anganba.

Mumbai City FC had chances to double their lead, but they went into the break with only a 1-0 lead.

That would haunt the guests just after the restart as in the 47th minute ATK equalised when Conor Thomas found young Bipin Singh, who beat keeper Amrinder Singh

But the lead only lasted for six minutes as Sanju Pradhan delivered a perfect cross for Rafa Jorda to head home and once more give Mumbai City FC the lead.

Achille Emana could have enhanced his teams lead and late in injury time it nearly came to haunt the Islanders as a Ryan Taylor free-kick hit the crossbar but the ball didn’t go in and Mumbai City FC won the match 2-1.
