Former champions Chennaiyin FC only earned a 1-1 draw at bottom of the table Delhi Dynamos at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
It wasn’t the best of first halves in the capital as chances were far and few at both ends, so it had to end goalless.
The goals would come in the second session. Chennaiyin FC were the more active after the restart, but it was the Dynamos who went ahead after Matias Mirabaje was brought down by Raphael Augusto in the box and Dynamos captain Kalu Uche scored off the penalty.
Chennaiyin FC upped the pressure to find the equaliser and they did in the 81st minute when a Rene Mihelic free-kick was head in by Mailson Alves.
It stayed 1-1 until the end. The Dynamos stay bottom of the table, while Chennaiyin FC dropped valuable points in the fight for a playoff spot.
