ISL-4: FC Goa score big 5-1 win over champions ATK!

FC Goa scored another big win, this time a 5-1 victory over defending champions ATK at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Wednesday night to brighten their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

Defender Sergio Juste gave FC Goa a 10th minute lead with a header off a Hugo Boumous corner. The start for a great evening for the Gaurs as Manuel Lanzarote doubled their lead in the 15th minute after ATK keeper Soram Poirei had blocked an initial attempt by Mandar Rao Dessai and it was Manuel Lanzarote again in the 21st minute to give FC Goa their third of the night.

Things cooled down a little as the barrage of attacks from FC Goa on the ATK goal got less and the hosts went into the break with a 3-0 lead.

It was top Goalgetter Ferran Corominas with a free-kick in the 64th minute to give the hosts a comfortable 4-0 lead.

After having missed or wasted a few good chances, ATK captain Robbie Keane scored the consolation goal for the still champions, but FC Goa would score the final goal of the night on 90 minutes through Dutch striker Mark Sifneos.

In the end FC Goa scored a big 5-1 win to follow-up on a 4-0 win at FC Pune City a few days ago, while for ATK it was their worst-ever ISL defeat.
