ISL-4: Iain Hume wins it for Kerala Blasters at Mumbai City FC!

Canadian striker Iain Hume scored the lone winning goal for Kerala Blasters against Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday night.

After a slow start into the match, both sides went into the attack with home side Mumbai City FC having the better chances of the two sides, but it was the guests Kerala Blasters who took the lead in the 23rd minute when Courage Pekuson quickly took a free-kick and found Iain Hume, who slotted home for his fourth goal in the last couple of matches.

Mumbai City FC for the rest of the first half put a lot of pressure on the Kerala Blasters defence but their wayward finishing allowed the Blasters to go into the break with their 1-0 lead intact.

In the second session, Balwant Singh had a couple of opportunities to equalise for Mumbai City FC with the Kerala Blasters also having their chances to enhance their lead but it stayed 0-1 for the guests, who join Mumbai City FC level on 14 points just outside the playoff spots.

In the end a big win for the Kerala Blasters under their new manager David James, while Mumbai City FC who have been strong at home drop vital points in their hint for a semifinal spot.
