ISL-4: NorthEast United FC hold hosts FC Goa to a 2-2 draw!

FC Goa dropped further vital points in their quest for a semifinal spot in the ISL-4 after a 2-2 home draw against NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Sunday night.

NorthEast United FC had the chances at the start of the game, but the longer it lasted, the better the chances for FC Goa and it was in the 42nd minute that Mandar Rao Dessai gave his colours the lead. But it didn’t last long as NorthEast United FC equalised on the stroke of half-time through a Marcinho strike. At the break it was 1-1.

FC Goa again went ahead in the 53rd minute when their Spanish duo of Manuel Lanzarote and Ferran Corominas combined with striker Coro adding another goal to his already impressive tally.

But NorthEast United FC once more hit back and equalised in the 71st minute when substitute John Mosquera scored off a cross from Seiminlen Doungel.

Towards the end both teams had their chances to win, but it would end in a 2-2 draw.
