ISL-5: NorthEast United FC & FC Goa play out thrilling 2-2 draw!

In their ISL-5 season opener, NorthEast United FC and FC Goa played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Monday evening.

The hosts went ahead in the 8th minute through a goal from debutant Federico Gallego after a mistake in the FC Goa defence.

But FC Goa continued with their attacking intent like last season with their star striker Ferran Corominas first equalising in the 14th minute and then giving the Gaurs a 2-1 lead in the 39th minute. It stayed 21 for the Gaurs at the break.

The Highlanders had a better start into the second session as a header by their captain Bartholomew Ogbeche got them the 2-2 equaliser. It stayed that way until the end for both teams to share the points.

NorthEast United FC now travel to face ATK in Kolkata on Thursday, October 4, while FC Goa travel to Chennai to face defending champions Chennaiyin FC on Saturday, October 6.
