Together with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, JAKO are presenting the new home shirt today. The Werkself plays in the 2019/20 season in a red jersey with black design elements in front of their own audience. In particular, JAKO came up with an idea from the team for the design of the game clothing: the Werkself professionals wanted a classic and red design, with which they now return to the UEFA Champions League.
Following that tradition, the new shirt is not just sportswear but to a great extent expression of the bond with Bayer 04 and the Werkself. Under the campaign motto #IchHabsAn (I’ve got it on) the presentation of the new shirts will not only see the first team squad in red but also fans and members of staff plus a host of Leverkusen amateur and professional athletes like beach volleyball Olympic winner Julius Brink. The bus drivers of the wupsi public transport company and Bayer catering staff will also swap their usual work clothes for the new home shirt today. Everybody will be proud to say: “I’ve got it on!”
The shirt has diagonal stripes in contrasting red tones and a sporty and snug fit. As with previous shirts, the club badge is on the left and the WERKSELF lettering on the back of the shirt below the collar.
The badge also has an historical link: The lion’s mane and the Bayer circle hark back to the logo of the Friedrich Bayer & Co. paint company of the 19th century. The main sponsor Barmenia, with their new logo design, plus sleeve partner Kieser Training are again on the Werkself shirt for the 2019/20 season.
