The new season casts its shadows. In the last home game of the season on Saturday, June 27 and in the final for the DFB Cup on July 4, the Werkself will play with a black and white club crest on their chest. The logo is the central element of the new home jersey that outfitters JAKO and Bayer 04 Leverkusen presented today. Together with the red collar and the red cuffs, it shapes the style of the jersey.
Stefan Kießling, Executive Officer at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, says, “We wanted to interpret the classic club colors from Bayer 04 Leverkusen in a new, modern design. I think we did very well with this jersey. The black and white club crest is an example of our claim.”
The black jersey has vertical pinstripes that symbolize the eleven Werkself players. ‘Werkself’ is printed on the outside of the neck band and ‘Bayer 04’ is printed on the inside. The name of the city of ‘Leverkusen’ embossed on the sleeves. The functional material with which the Bayer 04 Leverkusen teams will play in the coming season is also thought through to the smallest detail.
“Before the start of the design process, we had intensive discussions with Stefan and the Werkself team council,” says Christoph Rohmer, Head of Sponsoring at JAKO. “In coordination with the players, we have, among other things, provided the sleeves with a higher proportion of elastane to enable even better mobility in the area of ??the upper body and arms for the competition.”
