Jamshedpur FC sign Australia legend Tim Cahill for ISL-5!

In the biggest coup of the Indian Super League 2018/19 season yet, Jamshedpur FC is glad to announce the arrival of Aussie legend Tim Cahill. The 38-year-old plays as an attacking midfielder but, has also played as a forward on several occasions. A box-to-box midfielder, Cahill has become recognised for his aggressive and powerful approach and his ability to head the ball in the penalty area.

Cahill comes with a lot of rich footballing experience having scored 168 goals in 694 club appearances in his illustrious career. The Aussie played long spells for Premier League heavyweights Everton FC and Championship club Millwall FC.

Later, he went on to play for New York RedBulls in the MLS, Shanghai Shenhua and Hangzhou Greentown in China and Melbourne City in the A-League. Cahill is also the all-time leading goal scorer for the Socceroos, having scored 50 goals in 107 international caps between 2004 and 2018. He was the first Australian to score at a FIFA World Cup and has played in four World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014 & 2018). 5 World Cup goals. In 2007, he also became the first Australian to score at an AFC Asian Cup and was part of the 2015 squad that won the coveted tournament.

Jamshedpur CEO Mukul Choudhari was ecstatic to announce the successful signing of Tim Cahill as he said, “Having a player of Cahill’s calibre and experience is of huge motivation to everyone at the club. Tim Cahill will join the squad in Madrid as the team continues preparing for the ISL – Season 5.
