Jamshedpur FC’s Children’s Day surprise for the kids of Carmel Bal Vihar!

It will be a Children’s Day to remember in the days to come for the kids and the staff of Carmel Bal Vihar, a school for the hearing-impaired children.

Jamshedpur FC under the guidance of Kundan Chandra – Head Coach of Grassroots and Reserve Team, conducted a fun football festival that saw a participation of over 100 students of the residential section.

The festival saw the participation of children from the age group of 6 to 16 years which had various fun-filled activities and games set up for them.

There was a surprise planned for the kids as well. Jamshedpur FC Senior Team defender Augustin Fernandes came to the event and joined in the activities with everyone. From the school, Sister Lini (Principal – Carmel Junior College), Sister Sujata (Superior – Carmel Bal Vihar) and Pradeep Mukherjee (Sports Head – Carmel Junior College) too were present.

“I would really like to thank Jamshedpur FC to give our Carmel Bal Vihar kids an opportunity to play football. Football is an emotion and our kids from Carmel Bal Vihar feel this emotion. You can see the smile on their faces and feel content,” said Sister Sujata (Superior, Carmel Bal Vihar)

“We were glad to assist Jamshedpur FC in their initiative today. It was truly a ‘Happy Children’s Day for our kids from Carmel Bal Vihar.” – Sister Lini (Principal – Carmel Junior College)

Augustin had a great time at the school and loved the event organised for Children’s Day.

“It was a wonderful morning for me. To see little kids play football is always a delight. It’s a unique opportunity for these special privilege kids and you can just see how happy they are. Football can put a smile on anyone’s face.”

Footballers from the Reserve Team too volunteered as coaches for the kids.
