As the new technical sponsor of English Premier League side Swansea City AFC, Joma has presented its first official collection for the 2016/17 season. It is comprised of two complete game kits and several goalkeeper models. The collection has been completed with a training and casual wear line.
Technical features
Joma products are known for their quality and technological features. The brand’s quality standards have been applied to all the Swansea City clothing -the game shirts for their professionals as well as the replicas which will be made available for sale.
The elastic is made with Interlock polyester which is known for its quality and flexibility as well as very good resistance and particularly easy maintenance. This fabric is highly breathable as the DRYMX finish was used which gives the clothing a higher capacity to transfer sweat to the outside for quick evaporation to keep the body dry.
The polyester has been substituted with MESH in really sweaty areas where players need extra transpiration. They’re screen pieces that allow the air to penetrate the clothing and enter into contact with the skin to dry it and constantly maintain the proper body temperature. Plus, an antibacterial treatment was included.
Design features
Joma created a shirt that maintains the Swansea City identity symbols and using the colour white as the main element. The first kit stands out due to the original neck, designed as a semipolo with buttons customised with the club’s colours and name.
Various details were added to the new Swansea City shirt for excellent quality and fit such as a piece situated on the shoulder for better comfort, anti-tear seams in the neck for increased durability and elastic ribbing on the sleeves for better fit.
As far as the pattern for the Swansea City shirt, it comes in at the waist for a better fit and the length in the back is longer so it sits better on the players’ bodies.
The club’s logo, situated at the breast, is embroidered and includes protection on the inside to prevent rubbing against the skin.
One of the most characteristics details of this shirt is the GPS inside pocket on the back of the neck. The main purpose of this pocket is to protect the official Premier League chip.
The second Swansea City kit is blue with a degraded fluorescent to dark turquoise. For this shirt, the neck is designed in a V with double fabric while the sleeves maintain the elastic ribbing in colours that combine with the neck design.
The second kit has the same technical features as the first: transpiration, comfort, fit and moisture control.
Goalkeeper collection is comprised of several models: black, yellow and blue.
