Kamalpreet Singh joins Odisha FC on two year contract!

Indian Super League franchise Odisha FC have announced the signing of defender Kamalpreet Singh from East Bengal Club.

22 year old Ludhiana-born Kamalpreet Singh played locally in Punjab before joining the AIFF Elite Academy and playing for the India U-16 and U19 national teams.

Kamalpreet then joined Minerva Punjab FC, where he saw his side get promoted from the Second Division League to the top tier and then winning the 2016/17 I-League.

Therafter he joined Kolkata giants East Bengal Club, where Kamalpreet Singh spend the last couple of season.

On joining Odisha FC, Kamalpreet Singh said, “Really excited to be part of the project at Odisha FC and hopefully will win some silverware with them too. I have seen and heard that the club gives a lot of chances to the youngsters, and I am ready to fight for my place in the starting line-up for every game.”

Odisha FC president Rohan Sharma said, “Kamalpreet will be a solid addition to the team. After last season, it was clear that we needed depth in the defence. He is a player who we see to be a no-nonsense defensive right-back. He will compete with Shubham for the right back spot which is good for the club.”

Kamalpreet Singh, who plays as a right-back, has signed a two year contract with Odisha FC. Odisha FC add further after bringing goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh, wing back George D’Souza besides defensive youngsters Hendry Antonay and Saurabh Meher on board plus wingers Baoringdao Bodo and Laishram Premjit Singh.
