Karnataka State FA president A.R. Khaleel steps down after 28 years!

At the Governing Board Meeting of the Karnataka State Football Association held on Tuesday, January 17 the incumbent president A.R. Khaleel announced that he is demitting office as President of the KSFA with immediate effect due to his failing health.

The KSFA Governing Board unanimously passed a Resolution in the same Governing Board Meeting duly electing N.A. Haris, M.L.A. of the Shanthinagar Constituency,  Patron and Member of the Governing Board as the KSFA’s ‘Acting President’  with full powers of the existing
President until election of a Regular President by the Association after following due process of election for the office of the President as prescribed under the Constitution of the Karnataka State Football Association.
 
84 year old A.R. Khaleel had been since 1989 president of the Karnataka State Football Association for the last 28 years. He had joined the the Bangalore District Football Association in 1953, took over as treasurer of the KSFA in 1961 and was elevated to KSFA vice-president in 1981 before becoming the state associations president.
