Kerala Blasters score late to win ISL-5 opener at ATK in Kolkata!

In the opener of the Indian Super League – Season 5 at the Saltlake Stadium in Kolkata, two-time former champions ATK suffered a 0-2 loss to the Kerala Blasters on Saturday evening.

Both sides had their chances in the first session with the Kerala Blasters looking the better of the two sides.

Things remained similar in the second session, but things finally changed in the last quarter of the game. Slovenian striker Matej Poplatnik game the Blasters the lead off a header in the 77th minute, scoring the first goal of ISL-5.

The Blasters sealed the match and the three points when in the 86th minute, Slavisla Stojanovic curled one in for the 2-0 win to be secure.

ATK next host NorthEast United FC on Thursday, October 4; while Kerala Blasters host Mumbai City FC the very next day for their first home game of the campaign.
