Kerala Blasters sign Zimbabwe defender Costa Nhamoinesu!

Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters have announced the signing of Zimbabwean defender Costa Nhamoinesu ahead of the 2020/21 season.

34 year old Harare-born Costa Nhamoinesu played football locally before joining AmaZulu FC and then Masvingo United FC. A Polish agent signed him for fifth division side KS Wisla Ustronianka before joining Zaglebie Lubin, where he spend five seasons and became one of the best left-backs of the Polish Ekstraklasa.

In 2013, Costa Nhamoinesu signed for Czech giants AC Sparta Prague and he went to play seven seasons for them before now moving to India.

Costa Nhamoinesu said, “Kerala Blasters has a fantastic plan for the season. I’m intrigued and fascinated to meet my new teammates, learn new cultures and do my best to help the club achieve their goals. I’m also very impressed by the vibe that is presented by the fans. I strongly believe that a club with such a vibrant,strong, energetic and passionate fanbase deserves great performances on the pitch! I would like to thank the management for believing in me and my agent for familiarizing me with the culture around the club. Kerala Blasters technical director Karolis Skinkys said, “I am extremely happy to sign a player of great calibre as Costa. Having captained the Czech football giants, Sparta Prague with over 200 appearances for the club, Costa bringsin a mixture of experience and rich expertise to our squad. His achievement is Europe is impressive and is reflective of his character andtalent. We look forward to working with him for the upcoming season.”
