Founded in 1909, FC Sion will celebrate its 110th anniversary next year. Promoted to the Swiss élite division in 1962, the legend of the Canton of Valais‘ club began three years later, when it won its first Swiss Cup. This was the beginning of the very successful story of the “Sédunois” that, between 1965 and 2015, won each of the thirteen final matches it played. The club has been holding this remarkable world record for 50 years.
During its history FC Sion won two titles of the Swiss Superleague championship, one in 1992 and the other in 1997. They also achieved a double, championship and cup in the same season.
The last European experience of the “Rouge et blanc” took place after they won the 13th Switzerland Cup in 2015. In the UEFA Europe League, the Valais club won against Rubin Kazan, Girondins de Bordeaux and Liverpool FC before surrendering against the FC Braga in the final sixty four.
On the eve of a new challenging season, FC Sion is pleased to announce its cooperation with Italian brand Macron. They have already lived great moments together. During the season 2005/06, FC Sion and Macron celebrated together a national cup and the promotion into the Super League.
