Michael Chopra set for potential Kerala Blasters return for ISL-3!

Kerala Blasters - Michael ChopraIndian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC could be welcoming back striker Michael Chopra for the third edition of the ISL.

But Chopra will have to prove his full fitness to head coach Steve Coppell before he can sign a new contract for ISL-3 with the Kerala Blasters.

So now Chopra has flown to India on his own to train with I-League side DSK Shivajians FC in Pune and prepare himself for the pre-season with the Blasters, where he would hope to get a new chance to prove himself in the ISL.

Newcastle-born Michael Chopra has been one of the best ever players of Indian origin, having played for then English Premier League clubs Newcastle United and AFC Sunderland besides then English Football League teams FC Watford, Nottingham Forest, FC Barnsley, Cardiff City FC, Ipswich Town, and FC Blackpool.

In 2014 Chopra signed for Kerala Blasters for the first edition of the Indian Super League, but due to injuries he only played nine matches for the Blasters without scoring a goal. Sadly for Chopra, he missed a number of chances in the final against Atletico de Kolkata, where he could have been a hero for his team.

After the end of his contract India, Chopra returned to the British Isles to sign for Scottish Championship side Alloa Athletic but injuries continued to bog him down and he was released earlier this year before the end of his contract.
