Minerva Punjab FC to organise Champions Summer Football Camps!

With the school holidays fast approaching, I-League side Minerva Punjab FC is organising a month long summer football camps for budding footballers of the tricity area starting on May 1, May 15, June 1, June 15, 2017 at the Minerva Academy Campus in Sector 120, Mohali.

Minerva Punjab FC have a residential football academy which houses close to 100 trainees of different age groups. Minerva Punjab FC are the sole representatives of the North in the I-League competing against the giants of football like Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC and East Bengal Club.

At youth level, Minerva Punjab FC have been crowned champions of the U-16 Youth League for the last two years and are considered to be amongst the best youth teams in the country.

Last month Minerva Punjab FC were invited to play two friendly matches against the India U-17 World Cup squad and the India U-15s and the Minervans proved their mettle and defeated the former 1-0 and the latter 2-0. The Coach of India U-17, Luis Norton de Matos picked up nine players of the Minerva Punjab FC squad for his U-17 and U-15 India Teams. With this the number of players contributed by Minerva Punjab FC to various age group teams of India rose to a whopping 17 boys in total.

Camps will be held under the guidance of Minerva Punjab FC head coach Surinder Singh, an AFC ‘A’ License coach and Technical Director Jose Carlos Hevia, an UEFA Pro License coach, supported by other AFC certified trainers and experts. The camp will give the participants an insight into what it takes to be a professional football player complete with training, diet, fitness, experts, hydrotherapy and other useful and unique modules.
