Minerva Punjab FC sign Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe!

Northern powerhouse Minerva Punjab FC have signed Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe ahead of their second season in the I-League 2017/18.

After Minerva Punjab FC signed some impressive local Indian talents who have represented India national youth teams in various age groups.

With AIFF granted the signing of six foreigners in this edition of the I-League of which the clubs can field maximum five foreign players in a match out of which minimum one player has to be from an AFC (Asia) Member Association, Minerva Punjab FC have decided to rope in Maldives Dhivehi Premier League champions Maziya Sports and Recreation Club Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe.

26 year old Toshiya Hosoe started his career in 2008 at Chukyo University, Japan. He went on to join Victoria-based Port Melbourne Sharks SC in Australia in 2011 who play in The National Premier League of Victoria. He was soon snapped up by Philippines Football League regulars Kaya FC – Makati in the following season to bloster their midfield but his stay was cut short to only one season as Maldives heavyweights Maziya Sports and Recreation Club came knocking for the fierce midfielder as he helped them win Dhivehi Premier League 2016 for the first time in the clubs 21 year history. He also represented the Maldivian based outfit in the AFC Cup as he started in all six games for the Green Boys playing a total of 496 minutes.

With experience of having played in different countries in various conditions the clube hope the Japanese playmaker can change the complete attacking force of Minerva Punjab FC as he would leave no stone turned in making a mark at his first ever season on Indian soil.
