Mizoram FA holds Annual General Body Meeting!

The Annual General Body Meeting of the Mizoram Football Association was held today, May 25 at Berawtlang Convention Centre. MFA leaders and representatives from the 8 District Football Associations held formal discussions for the progress and further development of football in the state.

MFA President Lal Thanzara stated that the progress Mizoram has seen in football has been a direct result of the collective efforts of the MFA, District and Zone FA’s. He also announced that the MFA ground currently under construction in Sairang will be laid with artificial turf which has been alloted by FIFA.

Lalnghinglova Hmar, MFA Honorary Secretary gave a comprehensive report on the development and success of Mizoram football in the past year. He spoke of the success of Mizoram in Khelo India Boys football, the partnership of Tata Trusts and Mizoram in promoting grassroots football, the development of a Baby League and of the Young Legends League which has been jointly organised by the Champhai DFA and Eight One Foundation.

Indian sports equipment manufacturers Nivia and the MFA signed an MoU today which will see the company supply brand new footballs and futsal balls for the MFA’s top flight leagues.

The new season of the Mizoram Premier League will now use the new Nivia Antrix football which was unveiled today along with a new Futsal ball for MFA Futsal League 2.

Nivia managing director Rajesh Kharabanda represented the company at the AGB meeting. The new official kit for the Mizoram State football team from Nivia was also unveiled today.

Champhai District FA was also awarded a cash prize of Rs. 100,000 (1 lakh) as the best performing District Football Association in the past season.
