Mizoram Independence Cup: Chanmari FC victorious in 7 goal thriller, but miss semifinals!

Two-time Mizoram Premier League champions Chanmari FC overcame Ramhlun North FC in thrilling encounter with a 4-3 victory at the AR Lammual on Tuesday evening.

An explosive start saw Chanmari FC lead by four in 25 minutes in a first half with six goals. Rochhingpuia’s opener was followed with strikes by Lalnuntluanga, K. Lalnunzama and Lalmuanzova.

Ramhlun North FC netted twice in the first half through R. Lalthanmawia and Lalliansanga. The two goals gave Ramhlun North FC renewed hope in getting a result and they pushed on in search for more goals in the second half.

Chanmari FC were able to hold firm until the dying minutes as Ramhlun North FC scored their third through Jessy Vanlalmuana on the 88th minute.

Victory for Chanmari FC resulted in them collecting seven points from a possible 12 as they came a point short of second placed Electric Veng FC in Group A.
