The eighth season of the Mizoram Premier League heads into the semifinals with which would be played on December 3/4 and 10/11.
But the top four of the MPL-8 regular league season would not be playing the semifinals as Mizoram Police, who finished second in the league table, cannot play the playoffs due to their commitment to play in the B.N. Mullick Memorial All India Police Football Tournament in Kolkata from December 4 to 19.
The MPL-8 table had finished with Aizawl FC (31 pts) on top with Mizoram Police (26 pts), Chhinga Veng FC (21 pts), Electric Veng FC (20 pts) and Chanmari FC (20 pts) meaning that former champions Chanmari FC will take Mizoram Police’s place in the playoffs.
Aizawl FC will be facing old rivals Chanmari FC on December 3 and 10, while Chhinga Veng FC would take on Electric Veng FC on December 4 and 11 in the double header semifinals.
The final of the Mizoram Premier League – Season 8 would be played on Saturday, December 14.
