Mizoram Premier League: Bethlehem Vengthlang FC leave it late against Chhinga Veng FC!

mpl-bethlehem-vengthlang-fc-chhinga-veng-fcRound 6 of Mizoram Premier League – Season 5 saw league leaders Bethlehem Vengthlang FC square off against newly-promoted Chhinga Veng FC on Thursday with BVT FC needing a second half stoppage time winner to grab all three points. BVT remain at the top if the table with 16 points from six matches

Chhinga Veng FC, playing under a new manager with an injury hit squad, fought valiantly and at least deserved a point or more for their efforts and will certainly feel hard-done by the result.

Both teams started the game cautiously and looked wary of each other, both content to play a patient game. It was Chhinga Veng who had then gained the upperhand with Paul Ramfangzauva and Khawpuimawia looking threatening.

Chhinga Veng continued to threaten their opponents in the second half as well, with BVT FC looked to hit back on the counter-attack.

As the scoreline looked set for a draw, it was sheer grit from BVT FC that earned them three points as Lalrammuanpuia found himself on the end of a team move near two minutes into stoppage time.

Goalscorer Lalrammuanpuia was duly awarded The Man of The Match for his effort.
