Mizoram Premier League: Chanmari FC see off brave Ramhlun North FC to go top!

With Ramhlun North FC coming up short after putting up a spirited fight.

Ramhlun North FC started the more brightly and looked threatening, conjuring up chances to take the lead. They duly got their reward after just 6 minutes into the game with Zosangliana Sailo capitalising on an error from Chanmari FC’s defence.

Chanmari looked short of themselves, finding it hard to get proper rhythm into their game and the first half saw Ramhlun North FC come out on top. Ramhlun North could have scored two more goals in the first half, but they wasted their chances because of lack of finishing touch and inexperience.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Chanmari FC, looking threatening right from the off. The equalised on the 57th minute through Thasiama with a well taken goal.

Ramhlun North FC looking to retake the lead threatened, but could not finish off their chances. Chanmari FC then made their opponents pay for their profligacy with Isak Lalruatpuia giving his side the lead on the 83rd minute and substitute Vanlalbiaa securing three point with another strike in stoppage time.

Chanmari FC’s industrious winger Muanzova was chosen as the Man of the Match.

Undefeated Chanmari are back at the top of the table with 10 points from four games, they lead the table by a superior goal difference over Bethlehem Vengthlang FC who are also on 10 points.
