Mizoram Premier League: Chanmari West FC top Ramhlun North FC in a thrilling encounter!

mpl-chanmari-west-fc-ramhlun-north-fcChanmari West FC and newcomers Ramhlun North FC kicked off the second phase of the Mizoram Premier League – Season 5 with a five goal encounter with Chanmari West FC coming out on top thanks to a brilliant effort from Laldampuia. Chanmari West are now on third position with 16 points.

The match itself saw little action early on as both sides looked tame coming out of a short mid season break. The match livened when Ramhlun North took an unsuspected lead 10 minutes into the game. Isaac Lalremruata finishing easily after Sawmtea mistruck a well-timed ball from David Tlau.

Chanmari West FC, although dominant in possession struggled to create clear cut chances. But did have opportunities through Muanzuala and Dampuia. They eventually draw level through Muanzuala when the midfielder directed Reuben’s cross into the net.

They then even took the lead seconds before half time as Lianzama set up Dampuia perfectly to score a brilliant goal.

The second half saw Chanmari West FC again dominate possession, but it was Ramhlun North again that threatened first as Chhaia’s bounced off the woodwork.

Chanmari FC consolidated their lead as Muanzuala took advantage of a confusion between the backline of Ramhlun North FC in the 66th minute.

Ramhlun North FC, down but not short on belief, were dealt another blow when goalkeeper Rinpuia had to be taken off after using all their substitutions, resulting in them finishing the game with 10 man. They pulled one back though, when Lalremruata scored in the latter stages of the game to bring respect to the scoreline.

Chanmari West FC captain Laldampuia was chosen as Man of the Match.
