Mo Dahoud leaves Mönchengladbach in the summer to join Borussia Dortmund!

One of Germany’s brightest midfield talents in Mahmoud ‘Mo’ Dahoud has decided to leave one Borussia in Mönchengladbach to join the other Borussia in Germany’s top tier Bundesliga in Dortmund in the summer, one year ahead of the end of his contract.

“It was a very tough decision for Mo. It’s a shame that we’re losing a talent like him, but we have always managed to compensate for departures in the past,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl yesterday.

21 year old Mahmoud ‘Mo’ Dahoud had joined Mönchengladbach from rivals Fortuna Düsseldorf in 2010 as a youth player and developed into a first team regular, who has played 52 Bundesliga games (6 goals), 16 European fixtures (1 goal) and seven DFB-Pokal matches to date ande made 14 assists.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said, “Mo Dahoud is a highly talented and exciting central midfield player who we have observed intensively for several years. He has already demonstrated that he can play at the top level.”

Interestingly Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel already wanted to sign Mo Dahoud last season, but the player thought that he would get more playing time in Mönchengladbach and stayed back at the other Borussia.

In Dortmund, Dahoud will join a string of talented youngsters like Ousmane Dembele, Christian Pulisic and Julian Weigl with BVB known to develop youth talent into world class players.
