Mohammedan Sporting confers Manas Bhattacharya with Shan-e-Mohammedan!

Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting Club on Friday, June 8 bestowed the honour of the Shan-e-Mohammedan to Manas Bhattacharya for his overall contributions towards the 127-year-old club.

The Shan-e-Mohammedan is the Lifetime Achievement Award of Mohammedan Sporting Club, which is awarded annually to respect and laud indispensable contribution of football players to the club.

“I am extremely honoured to be receiving such an prestigious award. I can safely say that I never thought I would be standing here and receiving this award. Let me tell you that it is not just my sole effort that has brought me here, it would not have been possible without the inspiration I have received from my seniors and my colleagues. I sincerely thank everyone for helping me reach a stage where I can proudly hold up this award as a mark of my achievement.” Bhattacharya said after receiving the award and a sum of Rs. 1 lakh at the Iftar Party organized by Mohammedan Sporting at Haj House in Park Circus, Kolkata.

Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Firhad Hakim and Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Subrata Mukherjee graced the occasion respectively as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

Also present on the occassion were Former India skipper Dipendu Biswas, Tennis Legend Akhtar Ali, Mohammedan Sporting president Mohammed Amiruddin (Bobby), working president Jameel Manzar, general secretary Mohammed Qamaruddin, assistant general secretary Ishtiaque Ahmed, football secretary Sharique Ahmed, ground secretary Ghazal uz Zafar, treasurer Shahid Rashid, senior official Iqbal Ahmed, Youth Development chairman Hasnain Ahmed, team manager Belal Ahmed Khan and all other executive committee members.
