Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Army XI 1-0 on Friday afternoon to successfully kickoff their 2016 Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division – A campaign at the Mohammedan Sporting ground on the Kolkata Maidans.
Striker Manvir Singh struck the winner in the 15th minute after receiving a pass from Nitesh Chhikara on the right wing. This was Mohammedan Sporting’s first ever competitive match victory over a competitive Army XI.
Mohammedan Sporting skipper Rana Gharami, who had a brilliant game, has been named Man of the Match afterwards.
Mohammedan Sporting will face Tollygunge Agragami next on Tuesday, August 9 at the same venue.
