Mohammedan Sporting’s Saheed Ramon: Good Vibe In The Team!

Mohammedan Sporting head coach Saheed Ramon has called on his troops to show hunger going into tomorrow’s Second Division League Group B clash against Bengaluru FC Reserves. “I am calling on all in the team to bring their A-game. We have to, everyone should show bravery.”

Ramon has expressed confidence in his side ahead of the 2pm kick-off at the Sailen Manna Stadium in Howrah. Tickets are available and can be purchased from TicketGenie, and Mohammedan Sporting Club/Sailen Manna Stadium box office.

Mohammedan Sporting started their Second Division League campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over local rivals Bhowanipore FC last month. The Black Panthers displayed a professional performance against Bhowanipore FC and they are aiming to continue that fine form in their coming matches.

“It is still early days in the league,” said Ramon on the sidelines of the pre-match training session on Monday morning. “We are in the forming stage of the league. I’m encouraged though by the good vibe we have in the team. The energy is good with everybody working towards one goal. You can see it when you observe for yourself that there is positive energy at our training session.”

“We will have minimum changes from the last match in the team,” without hinting much about the possibilities, Ramon added, “We have a core team now and working on a consistent formation and approach.”

With Black Panthers returning to the action almost after three weeks Ramon said, “When you get a space in between the matches, it gives you opportunity to work on certain elements of the game. Back-to-back games don’t allow much opportunity to sharpen your tactics. We had a good two weeks of managing training sessions.”

Ramon also poured cold water on the early league positions of the various sides. “Current form doesn’t give much of an indication at this early stage of the league. All the games are difficult, because most teams are still working on getting their combinations and rhythm right.”

The gaffer admits Bengaluru FC are posing a somewhat unknown challenge and they are going to approach the game with a more patient lookout as they will prefer to read their opponents before hurling the attacks on the Naushad Moosa-coached club. Ramon holds Bengaluru in high esteem and believes it’s going to be one of the toughest challenges of the group.

Naushad Moosa has been working hard with this group for last two years and although the squad features some new players, there is an element of experience in some of the older members. That could prove crucial against Black Panthers.

The match will broadcasted live on Kolkata TV and in the history of the Second Division League this is the first time when a club has taken initiative to televise their matches.
