The first Kolkata derby of the 2017 Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ ended in dramatic fashion as Mohun Bagan AC scored a late 2-1 winner over Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Monday afternoon.
An inform Sheikh Faiaz gave Mohammedan Sporting a surprise 22nd minute lead against the run of play with Mohun Bagan having more of the ball and the action. With this win, Mohun Bagan move to the top of the standings with now 19 points from seven matches, while Mohammedan Sporting stay on 10 points from six matches and are now out of the title race.
