MPL-7: Mizoram Police beat Chanmari FC to earn consecutive victories!

Mizoram Police FC earned consecutive victories as they beat Chanmari FC 2-0 in the final fixture of round 8 of the Mizoram Premier League at the AR Lammual.

Goals from R. Malsawmtluanga and Lalfakzuala on either side of half-time were enough to seal victory for the Police team who leapfrogged their opponents to occupy 4th place in the league table.

An open display of attacking football saw half-chances galore from both teams. Malsawmfela and Lalfakzuala provided goal threats for Mizoram Police FC. And Jeremy Laldinpuia and Lalmuanzova also had chances at the other end for Chanmari FC.

Mizoram Police FC struck in the 39th minute when midfielder R. Malsawmtluanga found the top left corner from the edge of the box after he received a ball from Malsawmfela.

And they soon doubled their lead after halftime when Lalfakzuala made the most of his opportunity finding MS Dawngliana’s net on the 55th minute.

Chanmari FC went all out in the second half with the introduction of Vanlalbiaa Chhangte and Mark Zothanpuia. They rattled the bar through Jeremy Laldinpuia in the second half while MC Malsawmzuala came close on a couple of occasions.

Mizoram Police goalkeeper Lalmuanawma put on a heroic display in the second half as he denied Chanmari FC time and again towards the end to ensure his side come away with three points and a cleansheet.
