MPL-7: Mizoram Police see off Chawnpui FC challenge!

Mizoram Police FC earned their third victory of the campaign as they beat newcomers Chawnpui FC in the second match of round 7 of the Mizoram Premier League.

Eric Lalsangzuala and Malsawmfela were on the scoresheet as Mizoram Police got back into winning ways after succumbing to a defeat in round 6.

Chawnpui FC were able to hold their own against a much experienced Mizoram Police line up for much of the first half and they threatened their opponents through K. Roluanpuia.

Their custodian Malsawma was also called into action a couple of times in the first half as he was forced to make a double save from R. Malsawmtluanga and soon after from V. Laltanpuia.

The deadlock was broken on the 40th minute when Lalrinzuala’s delivery was finished off by Eric Lalsangzuala.

Chawnpui FC almost equalised before halftime through David Laltlansanga who was denied by the reflexes of Mizoram Police goalkeeper Muanawma.

Mizoram Police were the better side in the second half as forward Lalfakzuala and Malsawmfela both struck the woodwork.

Mizoram Police FC scored their second after Vanrammawia Ngente had flustered a one-on-one opportunity at the other end when Malsawmfela took the ball past Chawnpui FC defender Ruatfela and executed a fine finish to seal the victory.
