Mumbai City FC scored their first victory of ISL-5, a 2-0 win over FC Pune City in a Maharashtra derby at the Mumbai Football Arena on Friday evening.
Modou Sougou gave Mumbai City FC a 25th minute lead off a rebound, while Rafael Bastos doubled their lead through a first-half penalty after Lalchhuanmawia Fanai had brought down Sougou in the box.
In added time of the second session, Mumbai City FC were awarded a second penalty on a foul on Arnold Issoko, but Vishal Kaith saved the attempt by Lucian Goian to add a third, still Mumbai City FC won the game 2-0.
FC Pune City next host Bengaluru FC on October 22, while Mumbai City FC travel to face FC Goa on October 24.
