Mumbai City FC ties up with Rooter for ISL fan-engagement!

Come November, and Indian football fans will be flooded with an extravaganza of the Indian Super League. For Rooter users and Mumbai City FC fans, the joy will increase manifold as the club has roped in the world’s first real-time sports social platform to be its official fan engagement partner this year.

Mumbai City FC, marked by its unique tactical football, marquee players such as Diego Forlan, coach Alexandre Guimaraes and none other than the Bollywood heartthrob possessing great footballing skills himself, Ranbir Kapoor, have been one of the most talked about teams in every ISL season so far. Rooter aims to give a further boost to this rising popularity by providing unique engagement opportunities for existing MCFC fans while acquiring new ones and expanding the club’s fan base to other regions of Maharashtra as well as the rest of India.

Indranil Das Blah, Mumbai City FC CEO, commented, “While on field preparations and the team are shaping up well, we want to ensure that we give our fans the best possible avenues for them to engage with the club. Rooter has achieved growth and success in such a short span of time and we are glad that their offerings will help us take care of fan engagement, which is one of the most vital aspects of every season.”

ISL already became the 4th most viewed football league in the world in its first season, after the big three of EPL, Bundesliga and LaLiga. With this year being its fourth, the ISL has included two more teams – Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC – in its ambit, intensifying the competition further. Mumbai City FC is a significant team of the tournament and Rooter, being a multi-sports platform, gives the owners a unique opportunity to convert fans of other sports into football followers during this season, specifically during MCFC’s matches.

Commenting on the collaboration, Piyush, Founder and CEO, Rooter said, “We are very proud and excited to become the official fan engagement partner of MCFC ahead of this year’s ISL. Rooter will mainly work to provide expert assistance in three aspects-fan engagement and acquisition, revenue generation such as selling tickets, merchandising and acquiring sponsorships and most importantly providing stats and data of fan engagement for all MCFC matches to the team that helps them to understand and grow their own fan base. The collaboration with Mumbai City FC further entrenches Rooter’s growing acceptance and clout within the sporting community as an unparalleled fan-engagement platform that provides a solid user experience while generating insightful data to further strengthen a team’s presence in the fan community.”

Rooter has partnered with the global sports data giant Opta Sports as the official data provider, which ensures that MCFC fans and sports followers get the latest, most-detailed and correct stats, scores and expert opinions. MCFC will further have a separate page on the app to provide regularly updated stats and scores, host team chat forums and provide real-time interactive opportunities to fans located in proximity.

Rooter’s position as the first and the only completely dedicated fan engagement platform has reinforced the belief in franchisees cutting across various sports disciplines about its unparalleled credibility in sustaining, acquiring and engaging fans through a plethora of features. This association with MCFC is an evidence of this growing trust in Rooter, which will also stand to gain significantly from the collaboration. MCFC promises to promote Rooter on its social media pages, websites and other platforms, run contests and engagement opportunities in collaboration with Rooter and reward fans with team merchandize as well as tickets. Rooter users can also win a chance to interact with MCFC players through the app as well as on social media.

Rooter, within a span of a few years, has carved a niche for itself in the Indian sporting world as the most comprehensive fan engagement platform. Through its addictive and exciting features such as live match prediction, chat forums, trivia and contests, it shapes conventional sports viewing into an immersive experience.
