Showing their intent to fight for the top positions in the I-League, Mumbai FC completed the signing of the 26 year-old robust midfielder Thoi Singh earlier today.
The Manipuri comes with a bag full of honours as he was part of the Bengaluru FC squad since 2013, playing an influential role in winning two I-League titles in the process. Thoi has also been part of the Chennaiyin FC squad for the past two seasons and helped the Southern franchise to win the 2015 Indian Super League.
Thoi Singh was present at the Cooperage today as Mumbai FC played a practice match with WIFA Maharashtra XI. He showcased enthusiasm about his new adventure with Mumbai FC as he explained, “It feels great to be here. I will be playing for Mumbai FC this season. It’s a great city and I am looking forward to play with my new teammates.”
The coach expressed his delight on getting Thoi Singh on board as he said, “It’s of great pleasure to have a talented player like Thoi in our team. I have known him from his Mahindra United days. He has achieved a lot since then at his stints with Bengaluru FC and in the ISL. He is a very positive and attacking player with good speed and thrust.””
Thoi will be part of the training soon as Santosh Kashyap’s army continue pre-season preparations for the upcoming I-League season at full throttle.
