Mumbai Strikers SC become feeder club to Minerva Punjab FC!

Mumbai Strikers SC has decided to offer feeder club services to former I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC. On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, both Minerva Punjab FC and Mumbai Strikers SC signed a multi-year and multi-layered partnership. The aim is to develop Players, Coaches, Administrators, etc from the Mumbai Metropolitan region to move towards Minerva Punjab’s I-League team. Mumbai Strikers will also offer young talented players, coaches and administrators the opportunity to play, coach and manage.

Minerva Punjab FC owner Ranjit Bajaj and Mumbai Strikers co-founder Rohit D’Souza announced a partnership to develop the football eco-system in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The partnership works towards giving a platform for the players, coaches, administrators and other staff in the MMR to showcase their talent by playing and working in the Mumbai Elite League and earn in a spot to work and play with the I league side.

Mumbai Strikers co-founder Rohit D’Souza said, “We are pleased to be a feeder club to Minerva Punjab who have given so many players to the national team. Minerva Punjab believes in making stars rather than taking stars. We share the same motto. Mumbai Strikers aspires to play in the National League on merit and Minerva Punjab will help us in achieving our goal. Their intentions always have been ‘Nation First’ and we would love to be part of this great Ideology. The major focus will be on the exchange program of Players, Coaches, Administrators and support staff.”

Minerva Punjab FC founder Ranjit Bajaj said, “This is a unique opportunity for Minerva to make its presence in the financial capital of the country. The city has in recent years given quite a few players to the national team who unfortunately have to ply their trade in other cities. We believe there is lot of talent in Mumbai and we would like to reach out to them through Mumbai Strikers.”

This will be a long term partnership creating a bridge of skill as well as knowledge transfer. The tie.up will open doors to all who wish to make a career in football in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
