Nike launch Paris Saint-Germain’s new 2017-18 Home Kit!

The new Nike made Paris Saint-Germain home kit for 2017/18 allies cutting-edge Aeroswift technology with a contemporary aesthetic, reinterpreting the club’s heritage alongside a fresh application of its signature red, white and blue palette.

The club’s striker Edinson Cavani, who has netted 49 goals in all competitions during the 2016/17 season including claiming top scorer honors in the French Ligue 1 (35 goals), is already setting his sights on next season.

“I am proud and excited to pull on the new team shirt. I am always hungry for goals, and looking forward to winning games next season,” PSG striker Edinson Cavani said.

The look is highlighted by the jersey’s midnight blue torso with reinvented club stripe — a thin linear red chevron running from top to bottom. Detailing inspired by the club’s history and culture is evident on the collar, partially defined by an elegant red, white and blue stripe around the neck line, and embedded with the word “Paris” at the back. On the inside of the shirt, the words “Ici C’est Paris” remind of inner club pride.

The fit and feel is characterized by the shirt’s engineered knit zones, creating a subtle geometric pattern that enhances fit for the athlete in motion. The shirt is finished at the shoulders with a fusion of red and blue.

The sides of the kit feature a blue stripe that runs the length of the shirt and shorts. Expanding when the player is in motion, the stripe maximises ventilation and reveals an underlying white layer.

Blue socks, incorporating Nike Grip technology, feature “Paris” in white on the front and a distinctive red linear graphic on the back of the calf, showcasing the club’s traditional secondary colour and accentuate speed.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Nike leverages sustainable innovation for its football kits through the use of recycled polyester, delivering unrivaled performance and lower environmental impact.
The kit’s shirt and shorts are constructed with recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles melted down to produce a fine yarn.

Each kit is made using approximately 16 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted more than three billion plastic bottles from landfills into recycled polyester, enough to cover about 5,200 football pitches.

NIKE AEROSWIFT TECHNOLOGY

These are Nike’s most technologically advanced kits ever, using new AeroSwift technology they are now 10% lighter, with 50% more stretch than last season’s kits. They use a new, textured high-performance yarn that wicks sweat from the skin 20% faster ever before, while drying 25% faster. The shirt and shorts are also constructed using a new knitting process that integrates single and double knit to enhance breathability, stretch and fit.
