Nike launches new LaLiga Match Ball for 2017/18 Season!

Nike has launched the new LaLiga Match Ball for the 2017/18 Season, the Nike Ordem V which will be used in the coming season in across the Spanish LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3.

The new Ordem V is characterised by improved touch and a stable flight through the air, as well as by the use of Distorted Motion Graphic technology, which flickers as the ball rotates, helping players catch sight of it faster. The graphics are printed on to the surface using orange, white and black 3D ink that creates a textured feel for better grip, control and visibility on the pitch. In addition, the ball can travel with optimal power and acceleration thanks to the upgraded air chamber.

The Ordem V has a unique construction which distributes pressure evenly across the ball to ensure an accurate strike and the Nike Aerowtrac grooves help boost its flight and offer precise vision, allowing players to see it faster. They will be able to react instantly and make even quicker decisions in an increasingly fast-paced game.

Nike has been the official ball supplier to LaLiga since the 1996/97 season, and to pay tribute to these 20 years LaLiga launched a microsite tracking the evolution of the balls which have made history in the best league in the world. The LaLiga Ball Hub, hosted at http://www.laliga.es/en/nike-ball-hub/ , provides a digital timeline of the balls which have marked Spanish football. From the initial NK GEO 850 through to the new Ordem V for the coming 2017/18 season, users can embark on a journey to familiarise themselves with the technical characteristics of each and every ball and the technology behind them, as well as some interesting statistics in terms of the number of goals scored and the number of passes made with them.

Nike struck up its agreement with LaLiga in the 1996/97 season with the legendary Nike NK 350 GEO – an instant hit due to its innovative design for the times. Since then, Nike has introduced significant innovations to the balls used in Spanish top-flight football, such as the DART (Dynamic Acceleration Response and Touch) system permitting a faster game first incorporated into the Nike Geo Merlin. The most recent innovation comes this year in the form of the Nike Ordem V with its improved touch and stable flight.
