Northeast I-League clubs meet FIFA/AFC delegation about Indian football club structure!

The FIFA and AFC deputed representatives, Nic Coward and Alex Philips, held a discussion about the I-League and ISL merger with the three I-League Clubs from the Northeast on Tuesday, September 12 in Guwahati.

The I-league and Indian Super League merger discussion with the three I-League slubs from the Northeast – Aizawl FC, NEROCA FC and Shillong Lajong FC organized by FIFA/AFC took place at the Guwahati Address Hotel.

Aizawl FC was represented by Robert Romawia Royte (President), Vanlalnghaka Chhawnchhek (General Secretary) and Atik Rehman (Consultant) at the discussion.

Each club representatives shared their thoughts and views separately under the presence of FIFA, AFC and AIFF representatives.

The I-League champions representatives presented their thoughts and views about the league merger with an advanced technology to feed the people with a greater and higher possibility in the world of Football. They further explained how the club runs their Youth Development Program and displayed pictures and videos of all the Academy Buildings that the club is monitoring. Clips of the Red Armies (i.e. Aizawl FC fans) during the I-League was also displayed.

Aizawl FC president Robert Romawia Royte sharing his thoughts said, “Aizawl FC being the current Champion of the India’s Top League (i.e. I-League) should continue participating in the top League even if a new league is formed.”

The FIFA and AFC representatives congratulates the club’s representatives for winning the I-League and placed a mark in details about the league merger and promised to look into it.

The FIFA and AFC deputed representatives, Nic Coward and Alex Philips, currently are on a tour of India meeting clubs from the ISL and I-League besides state associations to work out the AFC recommendations for Indian club football to move forward.
