NorthEast United FC score late winner of ISL champions Chennaiyin FC!

NorthEast United FC kept their playoff hunt alive with a late 1-0 win over defending champions Chennaiyin FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday evening.

Chennaiyin FC saw the debut of former Kerala Blasters duo C.K. Vineeth and Halicharan Narzary as they hoped for a better result than in recent matches.

But for the champions, NorthEast United FC were the better of the two sides throughout the game but the Highlanders had to wait until the 87th minute to score the winner through a brilliant goal by their star striker Bartholomew Ogbeche.

NorthEast United FC next travel to league leaders Bengaluru FC to face them at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on January 30, while Chennaiyin FC will next host FC Pune City on February 2.
