NorthEast United FC sign striker Idrissa Sylla!

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Guinean striker Idrissa Sylla ahead of the 2020/21 season.

29 year old Conakry-born Idrissa Sylla played for French side LE Mans FC, where he also made his professional debut. After time on loan at SC Bastia, he joined Belgian side Zulte Waregem (2013-15) before joining Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht for a season, he moved to London-based side Queens Park Rangers to spend two seasons in England.

In early-2019, Idrissa Sylla returned to play again for Zulte Waregem but in the summer of 2019 he joined another Belgian side in KV Oostende on loan.

After signing for NorthEast United FC, Idrissa Sylla said, “This is my first move to Asia and I am really intrigued to experience the sport in this part of the world. I had a positive conversation with the Club about the project and I am very excited to be a part of NorthEast United. I am looking forward to working with the coaches and my teammates to make this season a fantastic one for the Club and its fans.”

Northeast United FC’s Executive Director Priya Runchal said, “We are excited to bring into the team someone of Idrissa’s quality. He is a striker who is technically sound, an aerial threat and has been a proven goal scorer throughout his career. We expect him to hit the ground running here in India and give the fans plenty of reasons to cheer.”
