Odisha FC sign goalkeeper Ravi Kumar on two year deal!

Indian Super League franchise Odisha FC have announced the signing of experienced goalkeeper Ravi Kumar from on a two year contract.

Ravi shortly after signing for Odisha FC said, “I am excited to be joining Odisha FC and I hope I can help the club compete for titles and trophies and hopefully play in AFC very soon. I’m looking forward to joining Ama Team.”

26 year old Uttar Pradesh-born Ravi Kumar started playing football locally before making it into the famed Tata Football Academy in Jamshedpur in 2008.

He made his senior debut for the AIFF Developmental side Pailan Arrows (Indian Arrows) in the 2011/12 season, where he spend two seasons. Ravi Kumar then left for Sporting Clube de Goa, where he spend four mostly successful seasons with loan spells at Delhi Dynamos in 2015 for ISL-2 and Minerva Punjab FC for the 2017 I-League. In the 2017 ISL draft, Ravi Kumar was picked and signed by NorthEast United FC before playing for Mumbai City FC in the last two seasons.

Ravi Kumar has also represented India at youth level having played for the India U-19s and India U-23s at Asian level qualifiers.

Odisha FC president Rohan Sharma said. “I am happy to have Ravi join our squad. He is a goalkeeper with a lot of experience and can give good competition to Arsh (Arshdeep Singh) and Kamaljit (Singh),” he said.

Odisha FC had earlier announced the signing of goalkeeper Kamaljit Singh, wing backs George D’Souza and Kamalpreet Singh besides defensive youngsters Hendry Antonay, Saurabh Meher and Paul Ramfangzauva plus midfielders Thoiba Singh Moirangthem and Isak Vanlalruatfela, wingers Baoringdao Bodo and Laishram Premjit Singh on board.
