Odisha prepare to host Junior National Championship & Federation Cup!

The Football Association of Odisha held a Council Meeting earlier today, April 2 at the OCA Conference Hall in Cuttack to discuss about the upcoming 51st Junior National Football Championship for Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy (tier-II) and the Federation Cup-2017.

The 51st Junior National Football Championship will be held at Cuttack from April 22 to May 4, 2017; while the Federation Cup will be held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack from May 7 to 21, 2017.

It was decided in the meeting that in the Federation Cup, the matches will be played under floodlights with the kick off timings of the matches to be decided after the visit of the AIFF delegation which has been scheduled for April 7/8.

Sanjay Behera, Honorary Secretary of the FAO, apprised the members present in the house that he already had a fruitful discussion with Vishal Kumar Deb (Commissioner cum Secretary of Department of Sports & Y.S Government of Odisha) and he has assured that all possible assistance and support will be provided by the Government of Odisha.

The house empowered the President and Secretary of the Football Association of Odisha to form various sub-committees in order to organise the prestigious Federation Cup smoothly.

It was also decided that a high power committee consisting of FAO president, FAO secretary and Secretary – Odisha Amateur Athletics Association will soon have a meeting with Minister of Sports & Y. S of Government of Odisha and Commissioner Cum Secretary of Department of Sports & Y.S of Government of Odisha for the smooth conduct of the Federation Cup.

The Federation Cup will have two types of tickets for viewers which are daily and the other being season tickets in the Gallery, Special Enclosure and Pavilion.
Elaborate arrangement will be made for the Media for smooth coverage of the matches.

Sanjay Behera also informed the present members in the house that the 51st Junior National Football Championship will be held at Cuttack from April 22 to May 4 with 18 state teams set to participate in the championship. The Matches will be played at the Odisha Police Ground, Ravenshaw University Play Ground and Bidanasi Play Ground.
