Ofenbach to perform at UEFA Europa League final in Lyon!

French DJ duo Ofenbach will give a special performance during the opening ceremony of this year’s UEFA Europa League final at the Stade de Lyon on May 16.

Dorian Lauduique and César de Rummel, who make up the French electro double act Ofenbach, are the brains behind the hit singles ‘Be Mine’ and ‘Katchi,’ which between them have racked up hundreds of millions of stream views online.

The duo, who released their latest single ‘Party’ at the end of March, will be helping to build up the pre-match atmosphere at the final.

They will be taking the stage in their home country, at the biggest footballing event held in France since UEFA EURO 2016.

“We are really looking forward to being part of this footballing party and have the chance to perform in front of all the fans in the stadium, as well as the millions watching at home,” said Lauduique.

The pair met at school in Paris at the age of 11, and have been inseparable ever since. After playing DJ sets together in Parisian underground bars, the duo came up with the stage name Ofenbach, inspired by a musical score by French composer Jacques Offenbach which was sitting on De Rummel’s piano.

Influenced by the likes of Daft Punk and Stardust, the pair are known for their blend of deep house mixed with their teen influences, such as The Rolling Stones and Neil Young. Their single ‘Be Mine’ is a multi-platinum seller in Russia, Italy and Poland, while ‘Katchi’ has been viewed almost one hundred million times on YouTube.

“The UEFA Europa League is developing its own identity, and we are delighted that Ofenbach will be performing at the opening ceremony,” said Martin Kallen, CEO of UEFA Events SA. “It is important that we look to engage new audiences, and Ofenbach appeal to millions of people around the globe.”

Four teams from four different European countries, Arsenal FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, Olympique de Marseille and FC Salzburg, are still in the running to make the final in Lyon in May.
