Paris Saint Germain welcome Italy’s Gianluigi Buffon!

French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain on Monday, July 9 presented their new Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who received a vibrant welcome from the fans on a memorable day in Paris.

Buffon had his first training session at the Ooredoo Center on Monday morning alongside fellow Italy international Marco Verratti and his other new team mates.

After the training session, the Italian international headed for the Parc des Princes for the official presentation press conference, in the presence of Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

But before arriving at the destination, there was a special surprise. About fifty supporters escorted him in motorcycles decorated in the colours of PSG and Italy, to the Parc des Princes. Horns and cheering accompanied Gigi to his new home, a surprise that touched the 2006 FIFA World Cup winner, “It’s amazing, I’m really happy. It’s the magic of Paris!”

In front of many journalists, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi welcomed Gianluigi Buffon, announcing the beginning of a beautiful story, “To present the great Gianluigi Buffon, a great goalkeeper, a great leader, on the field and outside, is a huge pleasure. He has a lot of experience, and is world champion. He chose Paris Saint-Germain to continue to win many trophies. I always felt he was coming to Paris. A very beautiful story begins today.”

Buffon then went to greet the fans who also came to welcome the legend, who have already sung a song to the glory of this great footballer, who will live his new challenges in Red and Blue.
