Philip Adjah returns to sign for Mohammedan Sporting!

Mohammedan Sporting Club ahead of the forthcoming I-League beefed up their squad with the signing of Ghanain ace Philip Adjah Tetteh.

The mercurial striker became the Black Panthers’ third foreign signing for the I-League after the Panthers got on board Mohammed Fatau and Raphael Ownrebe earlier.

The 22-year-old who turned out for Bhawanipore FC in the recently concluded I-League qualifiers, scoring a couple of goals – played for NEROCA FC in I-League last season and scored nine goals in as many games.

“It feels great to be back at the club where I made some amazing memories. The atmosphere at this club is amazing and everybody is professional in their approach. We have some top players in the squad and it should be a great experience once again. It’s going to be a challenging season but I’m looking forward to it,” Adjah said.

Adjah began his professional career in India with Mohammedan Sporting during the 2018/19 season. When Mohammedan Sporting signed Adjah as a replacement for injured Leonce Dodoz, everybody wondered why Black Panthers signed this relatively unknown forward. Weeks later it didn’t take long for people to realize Adjah’s potential, he has a blueprint of promise all over his meticulous moves.

Joining Mohammedan Sporting as a relatively unknown quantity, the Ghanaian forward showcased some truly devastating form and scored 31 goals in 30 appearances, and fans will be hoping for a similar kind of performance from him.

General secretary Wasim Akram said the signing of Adjah would lend solidity to an already strong squad. “The addition Adjah to the squad for this season makes us a very competitive team. He is a proven goalscorer and along with Raphael, he gives us the confidence we need in attack.”
