Portugal’s Bruno Pinheiro returns to FC Goa for ISL-4!

Indian Super League franchise FC Goa yesterday announced Portuguese midfielder Bruno Pinheiro as their first signing ahead of the Indian Super League – Season 4.

Bruno Pinheiro’s name was announced on the FC Goa social media handles to the fans of the franchise.

Without knowing the format and length of the upcoming ISL-4, FC Goa have gone ahead and signed versatile Bruno Pinheiro, who can not only play in midfield but also in defence, and he returns to FC Goa three years after having played 14 matches for the Gaurs in the inaugural ISL-1 in 2014. The Goans had wanted to retain him for ISL-2, but Bruno had opted to return to Europe.

29 year old Paranhos-born Bruno Filipe Tavares Pinheiro played nearly his entire youth career at former Primeira Liga champions Boavista Porto, where he also made his professional debut. Thereafter he became an international journeyman, playing for GD Ribeirão (Portugal) on loan, Aris Limassol (Cyprus), Widzew Lódz (Poland), Gil Vicente (Portugal), Maccabi Netanya (Israel), Niki Volos (Greece), FC Goa (India), Apollon Smyrni (Greece), and Hapoel Haifa (Israel).

Further Bruno Pinheiro is a former Portugal Under-19, U-20, U-21 and U-23 international.
