Rajasthan score narrow win over Gujarat in Sub-Junior Nationals (West Zone)!

Rajasthan made a brilliant comeback to down Gujarat 2-1 in the Sub-Junior National Football for Boys (West Zone) organised by the Goa Football Association (GFA)in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and played at Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Wednesday afternoon.

Mohammed Yusuf and Palash Barber were the goal scorers for Rajasthan while Prashantkumar Rai scored for Gujarat.
Starting the match on the front foot, Gujarat had the first chance of the game when Udeshya Nehru’s header from close narrowly missed the mark.

Rajasthan’s Mohammed Yusuf tried his luck from distance but his shot was too weak and was easily held onto by Gujarat keeper Sparsh Goel.

Aman Khan looked to score from distance only to see his shot miss the goal by whiskers. In the 27th minute, Prashantkumar Rai netted the first goal of the match for Gujarat after receiving a lovely through ball to him by Yagnadeep Gohil.

Prashantkumar Rai looked to score another one for Gujarat but his shot was very well defended by Mushfiq Khan.
Rajasthan looked desperate to score the equaliser right before the end of the first half but just couldn’t find it. Gujarat led 1-0 at the break.

Rajasthan begin the second half in a more fast paced game in pursuit to find goals.

Palash Barber free-kick went way over the goal. Mohammed Yusuf restored parity after Abhishek Ojha’s shot which wasn’t parried safely by Gujarat keeper Sparsh Goel went straight to Mohammed Yusuf who shot the ball through the gaps into the goal.

Palash Barber supplied long balls to his teammates but they failed to capitalise on their opportunities.

Palash Barber finally netted the winner after trying a shot from long distance which landed straight into the bottom left corner of the goal.

Gujarat then tried to score a goal to draw the match but to their misfortune all their attacks were foiled by Rajasthan stoppers Mushfiq Khan and Nuruddin Molla with exceptional clearances and interceptions.
