Ryan Sessegnon joins 1899 Hoffenheim from Tottenham Hotspur on loan!

TSG Hoffenheim have signed 20-year-old Ryan Sessegnon from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. The England U-21 international joins the club on loan until June 20, 2021.

“Ryan Sessegnon is a highly talented and fast wide player with a strong left foot,” said TSG sporting director Alexander Rosen, who continued: “Following the serious injuries sustained by Ermin and Stafy, who will both be unavailable to us over the coming months, we were on the lookout for a high-quality addition to our squad and we’re very happy that we have found one in Ryan.”

Ryan Sessegnon, who moved from Fulham FC to Tottenham Hotspur last summer, has been deployed on the left side of defence, midfield or attack in the recent past. “TSG are all about successfully educating and developing young players. I’m hoping that the transfer will allow me game time in one of the best professional leagues in the world and I’m looking forward to the matches in a European competition,” said Sessegnon, who will wear the shirt number 17 during his time in Sinsheim.

The Englishman made his debut for Fulham FC at the age of 16 and received acknowledgement for his strong performances when he became the youngest-ever played to be included in the “PFA Team of the Year” for the EFL Championship (second tier) in 2016/17. Head coach Jose Mourinho brought him to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2019, where he signed a contract until July 2025. Despite the tough competition for places at the London-based club, Sessegnon made 12 competitive appearances last season – three of which came in the UEFA Champions League. He scored one goal and set up another during that time.
